Key Responsibilities in the Publishing Process

Ethical duties of authors, reviewers, and editors

Authors’ Responsibilities

Authors affirm their work's originality and exclusivity to NIJES.

They engage actively in the review process, correct errors promptly, and ensure all listed contributors made substantial inputs.

Data must be genuine, sources fully acknowledged, conflicts of interest disclosed, and any post-publication issues reported without delay.

Reviewers’ Responsibilities

Reviewers maintain strict confidentiality, providing objective, evidence-based feedback without personal bias.

They highlight uncited prior work, flag potential overlaps with existing literature, and recuse themselves from evaluations involving conflicts due to relationships with authors, institutions, or entities.

Editors’ Responsibilities

Editors hold final authority on acceptance or rejection, prioritizing content quality, scope fit, innovation, and clarity.

They safeguard peer anonymity, publish corrections or retractions as required, verify funding transparency, and investigate suspected misconduct thoroughly with evidence.

Decisions remain impartial, free from conflicts, and uphold global ethical benchmarks for all published material.
