  • Low-Income Economies: Authors residing in countries classified as Low-Income by the World Bank are eligible for a 50% to 100% waiver upon formal request during submission.
  • Student & Early Career Researchers: Undergraduate and graduate self-funded students may apply for a 25% hardship discount by providing proof of current student status.
  • Reviewer Loyalty Vouchers: Active reviewers for NIJES receive APC discount coupons valid for their personal submissions.
Note: Waiver requests must be made at the time of initial manuscript submission and do not affect the peer-review outcome. Reviewers are kept strictly unaware of fee waiver statuses.

You only pay the publication fee after your paper has successfully passed double-blind peer review and you receive an official Letter of Acceptance from the Editor-in-Chief. You will never be asked to pay before your paper is accepted.
No. Unlike traditional print journals, NIJES does not charge extra for color figures, charts, supplementary datasets, or manuscripts with higher page counts (up to 20 pages). The stated APC is flat and inclusive.
